The Stag is situated in the lovely village of Barkston (Barkston le Willows) in the heart of Lincolnshire just off the A607 four miles Northeast of Grantham. The village was mentioned in the Domesday book in 1086 under the name of Barchester, references are made to a Roman camp and the existence of four mills in the area. The village church St Nicholas occupies the site of previous church buildings dating back 700 years.
The Stag itself is everything you expect from an Old English village pub and as can be seen from the photographs below has changed very little externally over the years.

In our restaurant you can choose from an extensive menu catering for a wide range of tastes, the daily specials are posted on the restaurant blackboard. We also offer a range of carefully selected wines from all over the world including wines from Australia, Chile and South Africa as well as a good selection of European wines.

The bar also offers a good selection of beers.

This external photograph shows how little the Stag has changed over the years and how the building retains many original features.
